Hi, my name is Boris Borisov and this is my story:
I grew up in a small Bulgarian town located in one of the best grape-growing regions in Eastern Europe. As long as I can remember, I have been involved in two things - growing grapes and photographing life. As a child, I was either with my grandfather in the vineyards, or helping my father in the dark room.
For my 10th birthday, my parents gave me the most memorable present of my life, a small Russian camera Smiana 8.In the following year, I won my first photography award in an interschool competition, and I became a photographer for the school newspaper. Later, while studying agriculture, I also photographed for the Plovdiv University and the city’s biggest newspapers. I was also a member of the university’s rock climbing club and ample opportunity to backpack in high mountains and photograph nature.
I started photographing weddings when friends from High School started to get married. Being part of people’s happiness and telling their story, fully and authentically from a unique artistic perspective, become my passion and addiction.
Now 30 years later, I continue doing the same. I graduated from New York Institute of Photography and now I am a freelance photographer capturing people, weddings, fashion events and family reunions. I live for photography and invest my heart and soul into my work. I am specilizing in weding,portrait and fashion photography and at the end of the day, my goal is to provide you not only with unique images, but images that capture true emotion and true love. These are the most important and most cherished moments of your life, and I am honored to share them with you.
Passionate home wine maker and a grape grower, I manage small blocks vineyards, in Sonoma County, California and help owners with winemaking process.
Photographing the beauty of Mother Nature is another old passion of mine and I always try to find time to explore the mountains, the desert or the coast. I am a freelance contributor for several Bulgarian travel magazines and agencies. My photographs are in private collections in USA, Europe and Russia and Australia.
